API Access
What is the RapidSkins API?
The RapidSkins API is a REST API that returns JSON. It gives developers programmatic access to real-time skin pricing, full inventory listings, account management, and trade automation.
Access is split into two tiers:

Getting started (Public tier)
Read the API Terms of Service
Review the explicitly permitted use cases in our API Terms of Service before building. Creating a key constitutes acceptance of these terms.
Generate your API key
Log in and navigate to Account → API Keys. Your key is active immediately. Treat it like a password; never expose it in client-side or public code.
Make your first request
Base URL: https://api.rapidskins.com
Authenticate by passing your key in the Authorization header:
Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY

Applying for Permissioned access
Selling, cashout, and trading endpoints require explicit approval. Each application is reviewed individually and granted at our discretion.
Describe your use case
Prepare a short summary of what you are building, which specific endpoints you need, and the expected request volume. Vague or incomplete applications will not be approved.
Submit your application
Email [email protected] with the subject line API Access Request, including your account email and use-case summary. You can also reach us via Live Support.
Await review
Applications are reviewed manually. You will receive a decision via email within 2–5 business days. If approved, your existing API key is upgraded; no new key is issued.
Rate limits
| Tier | Limit |
|---|---|
| Public | 120 requests / minute per key |
| Permissioned | Communicated individually at approval |
Exceeding your limit returns HTTP 429 Too Many Requests. Always implement exponential back-off in your client. Keys used for automated scraping, arbitrage bots, or any purpose not covered by the Terms of Service will be revoked without notice.
