What is a reversal hold?

What is a reversal hold?

Valve allows trades to be reversed for up to 7 days after acceptance to prevent scams. While a trade is reversible, RapidSkins holds the items in a reversal hold. Once the hold ends, your trade completes automatically and payment is sent within 5 hours.

Read Valve's Official FAQ

What happens if I reverse a trade?

Reversing a trade has serious consequences, especially with Instant Cash:

  • You'll owe back the Instant Cash amount already paid to you
  • Your Instant Cash limit will be permanently reset to zero
  • All rewards and bonuses will be forfeited
  • Your account will be flagged and may face restrictions
  • You must repay any debt within 10 days

How to prevent reversals

Verify you are trading with official RapidSkins bots

Check the Steam confirmation screen to confirm you are trading with our official bots.

Do not cancel or reverse trades

Once accepted, do not cancel trades on Steam or request reversals through Steam Support.

Secure your Steam account

Enable Steam Guard and two-factor authentication to prevent unauthorised access.

Wait for the hold to end

The 7-day hold cannot be bypassed. Your payment processes automatically once it ends.

Is there any way around the 7-day hold?

No. The 7-day hold is a Valve security system that cannot be bypassed. This protects all Steam users from scams.
