How do I avoid scams when trading skins?
Common skin trading scams
Skin trading scams are common. Knowing what to look for protects your account and your items.
Scam types to watch out for:
Impersonation bots
Scammers create bots with names that look similar to official RapidSkins bots. Always verify the bot before accepting a trade; check our official bot list.
Phishing sites
Fake sites mimic RapidSkins to steal your login. Always verify the URL is exactly rapidskins.com and look for the padlock in your browser's address bar.
Browser extension hijacking
Malicious browser extensions can silently modify trade offers after you review them. Remove unknown extensions and only trade in a clean browser profile.
Social engineering
Scammers may pose as RapidSkins support staff or other users and ask you to send skins "for verification". RapidSkins will never ask you to trade skins outside of a normal, platform-initiated trade offer.
